2020 Wrap-Up

WOW - what a year! 2020 has taken us for a wild ride, but looking back and reflecting on the past year has shown us just how much our community was able to accomplish while working together!

In January and February, we were joined by many NSD pups for some hospital and first responder visits, putting into practice what we preach about the positive impact our furry friends can have on those experiencing trauma. We have also watched one of our sponsored pups, NSD Nacho, grow up so fast… can you believe he is off to puppy university in January!?! In early March, we tested some of our new Hero WODs - OP Medusa and Code Green - which were so well received that they stuck around for our 2020 event!

We had some exciting changes to our 24 Hours of Heroes team this year. Isabelle Hicks took on the role of director, and we gained an amazing new team member - Jenn Lymburner - as our social media and marketing director, who has been instrumental in running this year’s event!

When the pandemic began, we weren’t sure what was in store for the future of 24 Hours of Heroes, but by the end of August, we announced a new virtual format! On November 14th and 15th, we were joined by approximately 20 satellite gyms and over 500 participants from coast-to-coast, and were able to join together to raise over $59,000 for Wounded Warriors Canada and National Service Dogs.

A special thank you goes out to our event sponsors: Modern Health and Performance, Gayle and Pat Hicks, Glassford Chrysler, Spartan Wellness, Frank Clarke Real Estate, Lance Howard Group, Hudson Automation, Domus Developments, Moffatt and Powell, Simpsons Fence, and Digital Extremes!

Thanks also to all of our prize sponsors for donating some awesome items for our participants: GORCUK, 5.11 Tactical, One:One Manufacturing, TruLocal, Rivalus Canada, Hairstrong, I’ve Got Your Back 911, Black Rifle Coffee Company Canada Born Primitive, Concept 2, and Hylete.

We are so grateful to everyone in our amazing community for continuing to support us and our cause, so THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

We can’t wait to see what 2021 has in store - Happy New Year!
