In a time of uncertainty...
It goes without saying that we are living in an unprecedented time in our history.
We are experiencing so much uncertainty when it comes to organizing our event and raising funds: Will we be able to host something that reflects the growth we’ve experienced in the last five years? Can we look to the community and corporate sponsorship to make a significant contribution to Wounded Warriors of Canada? Will people feel safe enough to come and participate? We are confident the answer is “yes”
Full disclosure- there’s also a bit of anger and frustration- we were gaining so much momentum, the word was getting out. Gyms and community partners were coming out of the woodwork to be a part of the event and help us grow our reach. For that we remain thankful.
We are hopeful that when the time comes the level of engagement and interest will still be there.
We are still working on creating a well organized and attended event for November 21-22. In light of the pandemic and the incredible strain it has put on our front line medical staff, you can expect to see a greater representation of that community. We have created new workouts to honour their contribution to our safety and well being.
We want you to know that we haven’t given up. We won’t quit just because we have more questions than answers right now.
This year may look a little different, and that’s ok. We are committed to supporting our community of veterans and first responders living with PTSD.
Follow us on instagram to stay up to date on our upcoming virtual events. As always, we are overwhelmed by the support we receive from you all every year and look forward to this year's event.
Stay Well,
The 24 Hours of Heroes Team
